System Status and Control Operators
AS OF 5:30 PM 6/19/2026 – Gunderson is back on the air and the crew is heading down the hill….
See new notes in Striped, Gunderson and Brigadoon. See below for Error 17 explanation.
Striped – Repeater System Fully Operational.
6/22/26 The APRS antenna has been moved to the ice bridge.
Gunderson – 6/19/20 – Gunderson is fully functional with the new antenna. Lee Bond noted an 11 dB positive change over the old antenna.
6/20/2026 Chuck Stroeher, WA7EBH, reports no audio delay on the Gunderson end. Any delay would be at Striped. Bob Sampson, K6MBY, reports no noticeable delay listening on the Striped end. Check from Striped Monday.
6/22- No delay noted at Striped.
Ellis Lookout – Fully Operational. Working on an upgrade to the APRS system to add an IGate as well as the current digipeater.
Brigadoon – Repeater is fully operational. There is a controller issue on Striped that is preventing this site to be linked to the rest of the system. 6/22/26 – Found the Brigadoon link transmitter coming on when it should not be coming on and creating a loopback.
Carlsborg Remote Receiver – Fully functional. The 110v ac power issue with the GFI in early May, 2026, has not reoccurred.
What is Error 17?
First, this is not an error that is impacting the functionality of our repeater system.
The error comes from the Echolink system. (Echolink, and IRLP, are systems that allow people to remotely access our repeater system). People that use Echolink are registered with Echolink and the IP address of that registration is databased. When a know registrant accesses our Echolink server, they are let in without issue. If an unknown IP address attempts to access our Echolink server, Error 17.
When we have checked the Echolink logs to see what the offending IP addresses were, and who they belonged to, it was found to be most often the NSA or Homeland Security.
