System Status and Control Operators

July 2nd – Carlsborg RX out of service. Unknown restore time.

See new notes in Striped, Gunderson and Brigadoon.

Striped –
10/31/2026 Parts for antenna coax repair and APRS antenna for top of tower received. Tower climbers not yet scheduled.

10/31/2026 An Ethernet cable had become dislodged between the Crescomm equipment and the Club router. Echo/IRLP, IRLPvcon and other devices have been restored.

10/20/2026 Striped internet down. EchoIRLP down. Cresscomm (ISP) advised but no indication of repair.

10/9/2026 A fuse holder melted. It was replaced and the Striped repeater is back on the air.

1940L 10/8/2026 Striped repeater appears to be out of service. It failed toward the end of the net. Tech team is aware of the outage and making arrangements to get to the site.

6/22/26 The APRS antenna has been moved to the ice bridge.

Gunderson –
10/16/2026. Nobody knows what was done on Striped today, but the delay noted on the west end is no longer there.

6/20/2026 Chuck Stroeher, WA7EBH, reports no audio delay on the Gunderson end. Any delay would be at Striped. Bob Sampson, K6MBY, reports no noticeable delay listening on the Striped end. Check from Striped Monday.

6/19/20 – Gunderson is fully functional with the new antenna. Lee Bond noted an 11 dB positive change over the old antenna.

Ellis Lookout – Fully Operational.

10/22/2026 Ed Bowen to Ellis on the 23rd to update the APRS configuration in the Wix3 APRS controller.

10/15/2026 APRS system running as a digipeater. No internet available at this time for an iGate. The APRS device was swapped out with a new one, however, the programming is incorrect and needs to be redone.

Brigadoon – Repeater is fully operational.

There is a controller issue on Striped that is preventing this site from being linked to the rest of the system.

10/20/2026 Working on a circuit to fix audio loopback.

6/22/26 – Found the Brigadoon link transmitter coming on when it should not be coming on and creating an audio loopback.

Carlsborg Remote Receiver – In service.

Control Operators

The Club’s Operating Practices indicate there shall be at least two Control Operators per area. The West End being one area and the Port Angeles, Sequim area being the other. Control Operators are responsible for monitoring the system, managing any linking issues, shutting down repeaters if necessary, and other system related tasks.

The West End Control Operators are:

The East End Control Operators are:
Chuck Stroeher – WA7EBH (also the License Trustee)
Herm Halbach – W7HRM
Doug Welcker – WB4KGY

Striped Peak – Central – 146.760 minus offset – tone 100 Hz. Linked full time to Gunderson.

Gunderson – West – 145.210 minus offset – tone 100 Hz. Linked full time to Striped.

Ellis Lookout – West – 147.060 plus offset – tone 100 Hz. Stand alone. No provisions for linking.

Brigadoon – Sequim – 441.125 plus offset – tone 100 Hz. Stand alone until echo issue resolved.

Net – Thursday 1900 Local time – 146.76 minus offset. Tone 100 Hz

The all member club meeting is the second Wednesday of the month at 7:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church Social Hall, 7th and Laurel, Port Angeles, WA
